Lockwood Water & Sewer District is currently  hiring for the following positions:

Utility System Operator I-II

The Lockwood Water & Sewer District is seeking an individual to fill the position of Utility System Operator. This full-time position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of public works infrastructure and related facilities. This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the District’s surface water treatment plant, water distribution system, and wastewater collection system. A Montana Class I “Operator in Training” certification in water treatment or greater is desired. Individual must be able to obtain a Montana Class IB water treatment operator certification and a Montana Class 2A distribution operator or “Operator in Training” certification within 2 years. Requires excellent interpersonal skills, mathematical, writing and verbal skills, computer knowledge, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions. Applicant must have the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, lift 50 lbs., and be able to withstand exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, dust, vibration, chemicals, and mechanical hazards. Previous utility experience preferred.

Minimum Requirements:                                                                                              

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2. high school diploma or equivalent (ex.GED)
  3. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License for the state of Montana
  4. Submit to a Pre-Employment drug & alcohol screening
  5. Pre-employment background check

Starting Salary Range $17.00 – $22.00 per hour. Initial salary will be DOE.
